Dam Market

Đầm Market, located at the market wharf, Van Thanh, Nha Trang City, is one of the attractive tourist destinations in Nha Trang. This market is the most significant commercial symbol of the coastal city because of its unique architecture and selling variety of goods, from seafood, dry goods, to souvenirs, clothes and shoes. This shopping market is named Đầm Market, which used to be on a 7-hectare lagoon leading to the mouth of the Nha Trang River. And at the end of the lagoon is a small local market, where seafood trading activities occur daily. Then in 1908, because the population here grew gradually, the demand for exchange and sale increased. Local people renovated the old small market into a larger central market, located right on the same lagoon, so the market was named Đầm Market.

In 1961, before the deterioration and needs of the city people, they rebuilt the market with a larger scale and investment. The new market has a diameter of more than 66m2 in a lotus shape. The area is about 5270 m2, including the ground and first floors.
